Rain poured outside the window, thunder crashed as a bolt of lightning light up the darkening Sky. A pitch black room was lit up shortly by the bolt to revel a lone form sitting wrapped up in a blanket. A women's form can be made out laying in a bed with a large mix breed dog next to her. A faint hum filled the air as the figure booted up the laptop; the light then illuminating their face. The faint sound of clicking soon filled the area as the figure entered the password gaining access to the computer. Once in they waited unsure of what to do, that is until a window lined in blue popped up.

"Skype? What the heck is that?" The figure muttered, their voice a hushed whisper hoping not to wake the women or the dog.

Before they could find out a loud ring echoes from the machine making the figure jump out from under the blanket, reviling a pair of pointed ears and tail.

"Yea...no" They growled lowly ears pointed back, the tail lashing and fur on end.

Quietly crawling around the sleeping form on the bed, the figure snatched a pair of headphones from the headboard of the bed. Freezing when the sleeping women turned in her sleep, the figure could have sworn she had muttered its name. Quickly peeking over the side of the bed to see the small form of a sleeping Shiba Inu before checking the one in front of her. Ok dogs, plural as in two, she thought suddenly extremely happy that they had slept though the ringing noise.

Once sure the women were still resting the figure returned to the computer plugging in the headphones. Placing one of the buds in its wolf like ear it returns to the task at hand, closing out skype as to not be spooked by it again before opening a word document titled 'Underpaw' from the desktop. As the figure waited for that to load it double clicked on the music app pinned to the task bar and decided to play 'Iron (Mystery jets remix)' turning the sound up to just being able to be heard fearing to wake the human up. Suddenly the word doc popped open, grinning the figure read over what was there only to frown at the last sentence typed.  It read 'Soon the pair's ...' It simply ended like that making the figure growl as it then shakes the sleeping women awake.

"What is this punk?!" The figure growled as the I took a double take.

"Wha? Kori how are you even here?" I asked ignoring the others question.

"Forget that for now, what is that?!" The wolf monster asked again pointing to the unfinished sentence.

"I am kind of stuck ok? I can't think of anything or remember where I wanted to go with it." I replied with a yawn blinking my eyes.

"So anyway how did you get here?" I asked again now slightly more awake.

"Not going to let that go are yea punk? Really I thought you were smarter than that. My boyfriend can use 'shortcuts'. Did you not think I could convince him to bring us here?" Kori all but purred as a deep laugh filled the air.

Turning slightly to look over the side of my bed, eyes locking onto the mass of white bones that was Sans. I had to hold back a laugh when I noticed my pet Shiba Inu sleeping on his lap.

"Right, kinda thought you could not cross the wall. You know the one I mean right? Very wall-ish? Separates your world from mine?" I said now more awake.

"ah come on kiddo throw us a bone will yea? it was a skeleton of work to get us here, heck I am worked to the bone." The deep voice of the skeleton faintly punned.

Kori simply grinned looking down lovingly to her partner before looking back to her creator.
"So punk got any other reasons for that? We have been tossing you a carp load of ideas. So I don't buy that your stuck" The wolf monster responded crossing her arms before her chest.

"It's not that easy Kori," I replied with a sigh "Writer's block does happen to real people you know."

"Writer's block? What's that? Sounds painful." Kori asked looking to Sans who shrugged.

"not gonna knock your block off will it?" Sans said his eyes losing their white dots as his mood grew darker.

"Sans no stop that, I am not going anywhere and neither is Kori. It can't physically hurt me... Look it's something that is both easy and hard to explain at the same time," I started to explain before stopping to think.

"hey, take you time kiddo no use skulling about it. just take you time to explain it." Sans said as a boney hand scratched the sleeping Shiba's head.

"Writer's block is different for everyone. For me though it is kinda like trying to fight against a seemingly undefeatable, determined enemy who just keeps resetting when you finally have them beat down. You know kinda like Cha-" I explain before stopping mid-sentence and flinching as the air grew tense.

"Right, forgot about that sorry you two." I say rubbing my neck before continuing. "When I have a block it is like the creative part of my brain shuts down and even music, the God of all creativity and motivation, cannot help. Neither can video games, the great second savior and inspiration, for that matter."

"Then why bother trying to fight it? If writing is that bad when you get a 'writer's block' why write at all?" Kori said making me laugh as she made the little air quotes around Writer's block.

"Because then you would never have been made." I said matter-of-factly, before laughing at their shocked faces.

"so this happened before kiddo?" Sans asked looking over my face as if puzzled by my happy expression.

"Yea, guess Kori is kinda new so she might not know. Have gotten Block before normally at least once every three months since I started writing like nine years ago?" I said before counting back the years to when I was just starting middle school, being in college now it was hard to remember how long ago it was. "Yea nine."

"If you went through this before why not just give up? Not even the most determined person could deal with that right?" Kori asked her tail flicking as she waited.

"That's easy. I have many reasons to keep writing. My friends, family, to escape the real world, release stress or anger. Many emotions can be lessened by writing or drawing! Ask Bara you know the old bleach oc of mine. She was made during a rough patch in my life where I didn't know if I had the will to keep going." I explained slowly as Kori nodded.

"Ok.... So what now? I mean catfishes got your ideas right? How you fight back?" The half breed monster asked lowering her head to rest on Sans.

"By writing, of course! It's not easy but the only way I can get though a writer's block is to force though. Some people just take a brake and it helps, or they go on to something else like drawing. It just takes time which means updates take longer as well. Sure like you, people who love and follow the story will be angry about the wait, but everyone goes through a block of some kind so they most always understand. Some even offer ideas to help!" I say.

Noticing that it was 5:45 in the morning I looked to the two only to see they had vanished. Grabbing the laptop to shut down and put away a message on the open doc caught my eye.

'Everyone goes though it huh? Well just know that everyone of us original characters are behind you creator-sama. We will never abandon you, just like you never abandon us. Focus on yourself and above all else stay determined!'
Wrote this up in the middle of a Writer's Block. I know it might seem weird but sometimes when I sleep i picture my characters coming and whispering Ideas to me as I sleep and this came form one of said dreams when I tried to tell Kori and Sans (Kori is my undertale oc and the star of my fanfiction Underpaw) about why I have not been working on their fic.

This is my entry for ChaosFay's Art Block Contest located here- chaosfay.deviantart.com/journa…

This I feel this explains how I feel,  what I do and kind of even explains how I deal with it when I get Writer's Block. Hope you all dont find it to weird, just felt this dream I had fit the contest and wanted to enter it. You know since most of the time I just have to keep up as my characters create the story they wish me to write. XD Sorry for the horrible puns as well.
